Oliver "Ollie" Schaetter
Fourth generation Schaetter, graduated from St. Mary’s High School and a mortuary college in 1942 where he was voted best embalmer. Ollie was not old enough to receive his Funeral Directors and Embalming license since he was not yet 21, so his license was issued in 1945, while serving with the U.S. Navy in the south Pacific in World War II. Ollie served on the USS Goshen. APA108, his ship transported the Marines who raised the U.S. flag on Iwo Jima from China to the United States.
Oliver is manager of
Schaetter’s Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, Texas,
a business that has been family-owned and operated for the past 120 years.
Oliver also managed Schaetter’s Ambulance Service
until 1974, when it was discontinued. He was
honored at the 1995 State Convention of the Texas
Funeral Directors Association for having been a
licensed funeral director and embalmer for 50
years. In 1999, he was elected “Funeral Director
of the Year” in the South Central Region of the
Texas Funeral Directors Assn and again in 2001 by
the Texas Funeral Directors Association. In 2001, he was
elected “Man of the Year” by the Fredericksburg
Chamber of Commerce.
Oliver has been involved in many community organizations supporting academics,
charitable organizations and historic conservation. He has held numerous offices, including
Director of Hill Country Memorial Hospital, President of
the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, Director the board of Admiral
Nimitz Museum and Director of the Gillespie County
Fair Association. In addition to his various titled positions, Oliver
has volunteered and held membership in mulitple
service orgainzations including; Fredericksburg
Junior Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Post 244,
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Gillespie County Historical Society,
St. Joseph's Society, Knights of Columbus, Fredericksburg Lions
Club and the Billie Booster Club.
Oliver is resposible for the inception of The Chamber of
Commerce New Commers Association, the Hill Country Horse Club,
the Hill Country Funeral Directors Association , St. Mary's
Athletic Club and helped to organize the first Night in Old Fredericksburg.

Bryon Schaetter
Bryon is the fifth generation of the Schaetter's Funeral Home family
and is currently serving as president.
He graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1975,
and was active in ambulatory and funeral service
during these years. He received his license as a funeral
director in 1977 and his embalmer’s license in
1978. He married Rhonda Klein in 1984 and they have three
children, Bartley, Baleigh and Brianna.
Like his father, Bryon is very active in the Fredericksburg community.
He has served as president for the St. Mary's Parent Teacher Club,
St. Mary's School Council, Hill Country Funeral Director's Association,
the Gillespie County Child Protective Services Board, the Fredericksburg
Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Gillepie County Fair Association.
Bryon has also served as a Hill Country Memorial Hospital and South Central
Funeral Director board member and a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador.

Evelyn Schaetter
Holding the office of
treasurer of the fifth generation Schaetter’s
Funeral Home is Evelyn Danz Schaetter. She
graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1950, and
married Ollie Schaetter in 1952. She performs many
duties at Schaetter’s Funeral Home. She is the
mother of five children: Gail, married to Barry
Hagemann, Susan Kneese, Bryon, married to Rhonda
Klein, Arthur Neal, married to Dana Gillis, and
Scot Oliver Schaetter. She and Ollie have eight
grandchildren: Brandt Blake, Hunter Glen Hagemann,
Dustin Kneese, Bartley Joseph Schaetter, Baleigh
Madison Shaetter, Brianna Elise Scheatter
and Oliver Jordan Schaetter.

Rhonda Schaetter
Married to Bryon Schaetter,
Rhonda nee Klein, graduated from Fredericksburg
High School in 1981. She graduated from the
University of Texas in San Antonio with a degree
in elementary education. Rhonda is currently teaching music
in both the St. Mary's and Stonewall elementary schools.
She is the mother of three children: Bartley Joseph, Brianna Elise, and
Baleigh Madison.

Myron Danz
Myron Danz is the brother of
Mrs. Ollie Schaetter. He started working at
Schaetter’s Funeral Home while still in high
school. He is a 1965 graduate of St. Mary’s High
School and also a graduated at Dallas Institute of
Mortuary Science Gypton-Jones in Dallas, Texas. He
was licensed as a funeral director and embalmer in
1969. He is married to the former Lynette
Klaerner, and they have two sons, Shaun and Kyle.
Myron is retired from 22 years with the Texas
National Guard and also served with Fredericksburg
Volunteer Fire Department, retiring after 20
years.

Shaun Danz
Shaun graduated from San
Antonio College of Mortuary Science and is
presently serving as Funeral Director and Embalmer
with the Schaetter Funeral Home and is married to
the former Kristy Ransleben. They have a son,
Kannon Mycal.
